Jesus Alone

Jesus Alone

He alone knows the Father as only begotten Son,
They alone with the Spirit, holy God, three in one.

They alone are eternal, uncreated, God divine,
To them alone be the glory, while three, still one-of-a-kind.

He alone had the chops; he alone was God and man.
He alone is eternal; who alone fulfills the plan.

He alone born of a virgin, come at the perfect time,
He alone is wholly worthy of my each and every rhyme.

He alone keeps the covenant, both his side and ours,
He alone has the blood before which Satan cowers.

He alone is righteous, and he alone is pure,
He alone bore the stripes that bring our dead hearts the cure.

He alone went to the cross as the payment for our sins,
And he alone can judge us, he alone defends.

He alone stands between sinful man and holy God,
Mediating so we don’t feel the wrath of his holy rod.

He alone lived a life that could fulfill all the law,
He alone bears the scars that undo mankind’s Fall.

He alone is wholly just as he extends his holy grace,
‘Cause for my debt and in your stead, he hung alone in our place.

He alone is resurrected as the firstborn from the dead,
He alone holds the keys of hell and hades in his hands.

He alone can come and get us, bring us life, bring us home.
He alone has the wisdom to bring us to shalom.

He alone could make this dirty dead heart beat anew,
He alone cuts through my lies to bring my deaf heart the truth.

He alone can grant repentance that leads to a holy life,
Living worthy of the gospel as his grace heals all my strife.

He alone possesses beauty that beckons all my gaze,
Beholding his mighty glory with my unveiled face.

He alone can give me strength as my heart starts to fail,
And by his Spirit give me words to pray when I’m not well.

By him alone we see the Father, he revealed him to us,
And in his name and in his person we place all our trust.

He alone is my Savior, my God, my Lord, my friend,
He alone keeps me from falling from his hand in the end.

He alone has loved me with a strong and redeeming love,
And given me a seat with him in glory up above.

Yes, He alone is worthy to break open the scroll,
Before him alone do hosts of angels prostrate fall.

He alone among his world stands tall and supreme,
In him alone we find our purpose and our reason for being.
